St. Paul, MN) -- Of the many new state laws taking effect on August 1st, one is designed to keep children away from cigarettes and tobacco products. Minnesota lawmakers have expanded the definition of tobacco products to include anything containing tobacco and intended for human consumption. The law requires all tobacco products and devices be sold behind the counter so they are not easily accessible to youth. This Sunday will also see the end of sales of new tobacco products and e-cigarettes to people who are not yet 18.
